Background and Training
I completed my Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Iron Mill College in 2017. This was an in depth, BACP accredited course that taught me the skills to support people in a safe, respectful and effective way.
Prior to my counselling training I gained a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree (2:1) from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2013. Since then I have lived in Australia and travelled around New Zealand and Fiji, and am now very happy to be living in lovely Devon. I have volunteered with The Samaritans, and I worked extensively as a community carer with elderly and disabled residents of Plymouth between 2014 and 2017.
Since 2017 I have been working with a diverse and amazing group of clients at Horizon Counselling Service. In May 2020 I decided to start working independently, with a focus on offering a safe, knowledgeable and affirmative counselling space for LGBTQ+ clients. I am currently undertaking 'Certificate of Study: Advanced Practitioner' training through Pink Therapy to develop my awareness around all aspects of gender, sexuality and relationship diversities (GSRD). These decisions have happily developed into Rainbow Counselling SW.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and abide by their strict Ethical Framework (2018). I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS check in place. I attend regular supervision and training to ensure I continue to offer the most effective and safe counselling possible.
